Raised in the Rock River area, Lily is a self taught artist with a focus on fused glass and acrylic painting.
My glass work is focused around emotional colors and unexpected textures. I pull inspiration from everywhere. From nature themed bubble trees, to my intrusive thought cursive tiles. I try to use time in the studio to work on whatever my mind needs to express.
Painting started as a fun way to make a mess, and later evolved into a meaningful way to explore my struggles with mental health. Each maze is an examination of a thought process, or personal relationship. The walls I build in my own mind tend to stay up, and only get more complex over time. Some are harder to navigate than others. Some are a joyful path. All of them help me understand why honest human expression can feel like a daring escape from the maze of how I believe I am expected to be, feel, and act.
